Frequently asked questions...
• What can Google Calendar do for our club? [+]
The use of an online calendar will provide the most up-to-date and comprehensive information about our Events, Interest Group activities and Monthly Nights Out all in one easy-to-find location. Board Members and Interest Group Chairs can enter information about events, manage invitations and RSVPs, send reminders and correspond with you using this calendar. Members can RSVP to invitations by email, whether or not they choose to use Google Calendar.
• I know I can see the basic view of the calendar from the link off the website, but how do I use the more advanced features like searching the calendar, or viewing guest lists, RSVPs and comments? [+]
You will need a Google Account to use the advanced features - it's free and easy to sign up. Simply click on the subscribe link at the bottom right hand corner of the ENNC Calendar. (We prefer you use the same email address that you already supplied ENNC for email notices, you don't need a gmail email address.)
• Can I see all upcoming events in a list form? [+]
On the Google calendar page, select the "Agenda" tab in the upper right hand corner.
• If I create my own personal Google Calendar can I view ENNC’s Calendar alongside mine? [+]
Yes, if you create your own Google Calendar for personal use, you can view the ENNC Calendar right alongside it. Sign-in to your Google Account to see your own calendar and click the "plus" symbol next to "Other Calendars" in the lower left corner. Then enter "ENNC" in the search box. (Your own calendar does not need to be public, you can choose to make your calendar private or only share certain events or the entire calendar with family and friends.)
• How do I create an event on a Google Calendar? [+]
After creating a Google Account, sign-in to the ENNC calendar and click on the "Create Event" link in the upper left corner. Fill in the details, add email addresses and select the reminder settings as you think is appropriate for the event. When you enter the location in the "Where" box , add ", city, state" to make the location appear on a Google map.
• Who can enter events on the ENNC Calendar? [+]
Board Members and Interest Group chairs who have been granted access can enter events on the main calendar. If you are one of the above and have not been granted access yet contact membership@ennc.org.
• Do I have to enter in all the email addresses every time I create a new event? [+]
No, just duplicate a past event that included all the address and put it on another day. You do this by clicking on the event you already created, click on "edit event details»", use pull down menu called "More actions..." and select "Duplicate Event". Just be sure to add any new email addresses here and change the details of the event.
